Im taking Orlandos PAT test soon and was wondering what to expect on the test, Im currently in the military and I do 65 Push ups in 2 minutes 98 Sit ups in 2 minutes and run 2 miles in 14 minutes just as a base to see where I am right now. Thank you for your help I would greatly appreciate it, that way I can begin training.
I just did a quick search for the City of Orlando/Florida Law Enforcement PAT requirements here (http://www.cityoforlando.net/police/misc/recruiting_pat_test.htm), and these are the standards recruits are required to meet:
Push-ups: Complete at least 15 push-ups in one minute
Sit-ups: Complete at least 25 sit-ups in one minute
Vertical Leap: Leap vertically at least 12 inches above their reach
1.5 Mile Run: Complete a 1.5 mile run in 18 minutes or less
300 Meter Run: Run 300 meters in 75 seconds or less
Judging by your stats I'd say you're in pretty good condition to meet and exceed those requirements. Good luck!

Why can't places here have those requirements?
Why can't places here have those requirements?
Because I can take people out without needing to push myself up and down 65 times, don't show off abs in my uniform, and am more of a sprinter than a long-distance runner!

I meant that they aren't bad at all. Mile and a half in 18 minutes? You could walk that. We have places here who have academy entrance standards on their mile and a half.
ohhh I thought you meant the stricter requirements.
I think physical fitness it important in a recruit but I'd trade most of the entrance testing for an annual fitness test AFTER hiring... at least for being on the road. Just like with firearms...

Me too and I suck at distance running...

Hey brother, my fitness test went up dramatically and quickly with the program I am doing. I was in the Army and now LE so I know the transition. I went up into the 90% in all areas of my fitness test in just a few months. If you want to message me, I can tell you what I did.

armyvetcopcoach, if you're going to make statements that you're in Law Enforcement you're going to have to get verified. Check here for how to request verification: Supporting Member / LEO Verification (http://www.realpolice.net/forums/restricted-areas-supporting-members-96/96880-supporting-member-leo-verification.html)
Also, please don't let me find out that you're attempting to advertise for some kind of fitness program through PM's 'cause that is what this post almost sounds like.

Just thought I would update anyone that may look to this for an answer on the Orlando PAT. I took this test earlier this year and it consisted of the following.
1.5 mile run came first, if you stopped or WALKED you failed. Then from there you went directly to the gym and started on the Push up test with no break except for the course of instruction on the proper push up. They lined you up into rows with an instructor and you did push ups with hands below your shoulders (not wide arm) and feet no more than 12 inches apart. You went down until you hit the instructors fist on the floor under your sternum. When you were done you gave your number to the instructor taking names. Then sit ups came next. Just as before the only rest you got was during the course of instruction on the proper sit up. Which is hands behind your head, elbows to knees and back must touch the floor all the way, rest in the up position only.
The minimum requirements in the earlier post are just that, the minimums. Remember though that you are competing for a spot and if you just do the minimum to pass, they take that into consideration as to your character. Meaning that you are an officer that just gets by while the other officer pushed the limits and did 100 push ups, 100 sit ups etc. At least that is what they told us during the test.
