...i think my mom is trying to pull my leg here, she says that if her work (she works for a school district, and my stepfather for ODOT, so his work too) quote "suspects them of something" end quote, they could have all the computers in the house confiscated and searched for pornography, and that their jobs could be at risk if any is found.

I'm 18+ and to be honest i have probably a full gig of porn between both of my comps, it's all fully legal. I honestly don't see how her job could be at risk over MY porn collection. Both computers are password locked (mostly because my mother takes a dim view to porn, another reason i think she's pulling my leg)

Their house, their rules. Move out if you can't live by them.

BTW, giving you a reason for the rules is a courtesy they extended you, not a requirement. It would courteous for you to follow them without question instead of trying to find faults in their reasons.

And to answer the question, "stigmatized" can be just as career ending as a firing. You click a wrong link and get a visit from police, I'd bet money a school district employee gets suspended/moved from children while they "sort it out." And after it's sorted, and she returns to her job, what then? Why would you put her in that position when she's told you her rules?

You can call your porn " legal" but another branch of the government may not. Maybe the girl in the video is 18 and maybe she isn't.

Are you wiling to risk THEIR jobs on that ?

Move out , get your own place and download all of the porn you want.

I doubt they would lose their jobs on "legal" porn on your personal computer, but if you were my kid, 18, living in my house and didn't get rid of it when I asked, you can bet your sh!t would be in the front yard by morning. How about showing some respect for your parents and their house?

I agree with pretty much everyone else here. Even if a scenario like this happened where porn was found, and you owned up to it, that wouldn't stop people from speculating and rumors starting that it could have been your dad's or even your mom's. I say respect their house rules or get your own place.

And kids are smaller than adults. They take up less space.

I was giving him the benefit of the doubt that they are all adults...

If the companies they work for provided them with the computers it's quite possible they could lose there jobs.
If you don't like their rules why are you still living at home. You're an adult go get your own place and do what you want.
