Hello All,

I am currently going through the application process with a local police department and everything was moving along quite quickly until now. I took the civil service test and scored well. I was called a couple days after I received the results to set up an initial meeting where I received a more in depth application. I filled it out and returned it back within 5 days of receiving it. Shortly after I turned the app in I received a call to set up the voice stress test. I took the stress test (early December) and the results turned out fine. I was told I would be receiving a call to continue on with process.

The last I heard from the department was 5 weeks ago. I realize that the holidays may have slowed the process a little and I know that jumping through all the "hoops" takes time but, I was wondering if the reason for the long wait is because of the BI or maybe I am not even being considered anymore? Do agencies typically let you know if you are still being considered or not? Should I call them or just wait and see?

I was getting excited on how fast things were moving and now that things have stalled it has got me thinking the worst. I'm trying to stay patient but its tough.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to RP.

I think I would touch bases with them; from what you wrote it is reasonable to contact them and ask if you're still being considered.

Good luck.

I would try ONE time to " check in " and than let it go. They aren't as excited as you are and they will get to your stuff when they are ready.
