I have a new patrol bag and am looking to fill it up with useful items so I am looking for nifty gadgets and handy items that you might have come across. It's main compartment has my filing system in it but otherwise is empty. It has a lot of other pockets as well.

Besides what was already mentioned. A screwdriver with interchangeable heads (removing tags, pesky items). Depending on how much room you have - a hard folder with extra commonly used forms - always sucks to get to the wreck to find you don't have the wreck form lol.

Leatherman tool for the obvious reasons. Lockpick kit if you know how. And most importantly- dog leash. Not only for holding on to stray dogs while you wait for animal control, but it makes a great leg restraint for those kicking suspects.

Ripp restraint. I think you can actually wear it around your waist. Dog leash but also people leash.
