    Clothing for EMS

Taking EMT courses now since I know in law enforcement I will deal with a lot of injured people. Part of class is clinical experience on actual runs and was wondering if there is good clothing to help protect against infection from blood and other fluids, like pants that will wich it away instead of seeping to skin, etc.

You might want to ask your instructor and/or check your syllibus before you get anything. We were given a rather strict dress code for clinicals...if we showed up in the wrong attire we might be dropped from the program. My .02 is unless you know you want to get into the field don't spend a ton of money on pants/boots etc that you will wear for a couple of shifts and then they sit in the closet. If the crap really starts flying they will give you some extra PPE or have you stand off to the side. Good luck with the class.

We were told pants, shirt that look professional, plain no logos, etc. Very loose code. And i am thinking about getting into the field a bit before going into LE, seems easytoget a part time emt job in state, most polic departments have a very long hiring process.

Also, the state academy has 2 classes per year. So I will not be able to get into one of them due to class scedule anyway and have about 6 months of time were i think a part time Emt job will be great.
