    Good Duty boots?

Want to get some new boots for my coast guard job, and wearing around.

    Must be:

8'' or so, not any short boots
    black
composite or steel safety toe, probably composite since steel is pricy and heavy.
water resistant, prefere waterproo since ill be on boats

Confortable for extended periods of wear.

Any best brands or models in a decent price point?

I love my Danners. They make the Acadia with a steel toe and the Striker with a composite toe. Warning, they take about a week to break in, during that time you will be cussing them from top to bottom wondering why you ever bought them.

Raises them? I'd be interested in how you feed and discipline a boot.

I wish more places sold these, i like to try boots on, but I know my size. Im going to search around online and make a decision, danner look good in the strikers, i fear the steel to will feel heavy and unbalanced compared to the composite I have now.

how are the steel toes? The Acadias are US made and Id love american boots, im wondering how steel toes will be in balance, if they feel front heavy?

I've got the 400g Acadias and absolutely love them. Lightweight and feel like your wearing sneakers. I can't advise you of the steel toe though because I've never tried them on.

Someone posted this link for 50% off. Good for today only I believe.
