impac MT plate

Does anyone have any experience with the Impac MT plate? It supposedly adds spike and edge protection to the handgun ballistic plate. I would like to know if anyone has used this in a patrol environment (concealable soft body armor) and what their thoughts were. Useful or would dept dollars be spent better elsewhere?

I have one that safirland had given to me as a sample to try out. I haven't used it yet it does look and feel like a quailty plate. They sent me a videoalong with it that is pretty impresive.
