What to wear under your bullest resistant vest...

Some people say they like Under Armour , some like some other brands , some wear just plain tshirts?

I am in the academy and we were issued out vests this past thursday - I sweat without wearing the vest and now putting it on it makes me sweat much more.

I was wondering if you guys and girls ofcourse can reply back with some shirts you choose to wear under the vests.

Id really love to go the under armour route since they seem to be the best from what i google but they are pretty expensive, but if after all your opinions thats the best one then I will give it a shot.

    Thanks in advance

Get used to sweating while wearing the armor. I've found that pretty much any of the moisture wicking shirts work but you're going to sweat no matter what. Personally I like the cotton type Under Armour shirts over the more synthetic ones but that's mainly because a synthetic t-shirt combined with the material my uniform is made out of means the weight of my gun belt is pulling my pants down no matter how tight I cinch the belt. The cotton type material seems to create more friction and my pants don't slide as much.

Walmart carries UA knockoffs that work just as well. These type of undershirts wick sweat away and make you feel cooler. They also allow your vest to "slide" which makes the vest more comfortable to wear.

I wear cotton t-shirts (Hanes, if that matters) under my armour. The moisture wicking shirts were very irritating. Not to the point of a rash, but I couldn't stand wearing them.

Plain old 3-pack Hanes or Fruit-of-the-Loom. Wear black if you can. (White t-shirts stain too much)

Just a thought, but if you are a very hairy guy shaving helps a lot. ;)

Target has a knock-off Under Armour type shirt. Which is a bit thicker, but to me I personally feel it keeps me a little cooler in the summer and I don't realize how bad I'm sweating as fast as with the Under Armour. But that's just me. ;)

I dont know if the american bullett resisstant vest are much different, than the vest we wear in germany, but I wear normal cotton t-shirts under it.

From the vest company we get a synthetic shirt, but I don't like it.

I wear a regular black cotton t-shirt under my vest. I think all that matters is that you wear something that is comfortable. You will sweat regardless. My only suggestion, is that whatever you wear, make it blue or black. White stands out, and tactically it creates a nice bright little triangle to shoot at, which is a part of you that would not be protected by your vest.

Plain old Hanes V-neck white t-shirt here.

What I do that might be different from others is every night I spray my vest with Febreeze and the t-shirt I wear with it every night after my watch is over.

    But it's a "dry" heat.

I recently tried the UA "sweat wicking" type shirts, but as mentioned by a couple of people the shirt material became very uncomfortable toward EOW.

I switched back to a quality cotton t-shirt, much better. 100% cotton is hard to beat as a natural evaporative cooler in the Arizona heat.
