I wanted to know how difficult it is for women to get into the academy and what their success rate may be if they do get in?

In my experience, gender plays almost no role in the success of a candidate. You either have what it takes to be a cop, regardless of your gender, or you don't.

It's no harder for a woman to become a police officer than it is a man. Stay out of trouble, get in shape, and do your best.

Same in mine. They get preferential treatment in all those areas. No joke. A supervisor's nightmare is to have a woman or minority who's doing a lousy job.
